Not too far to travel for Hannah & Wayne’s wedding in Knapton last weekend, the day started off OK weatherwise but the great British drizzle descended before too long! Anyway here’s some photos…
Below, the bridesmaid’s reaction as they saw Hannah in her wedding dress for the first time…
Below, Hannah arrives through the weather!
Mannington Hall and classic cars go together!
Below, one of many reasons to get rid of the wedding photographer before the chocolate fountain comes out – mmm fudge!

Had a great day in Burnham Market last Saturday for Caroline and Adam’s wedding, having lived all her life in Burnham Market Caroline knew pretty much the entire village as she walked form her parent’s house to the village church! From the church it was on to Burnham market primary school where they had the coolest ever marquee and a whole school themed reception complete with a register for guests to sign in and old-school sweets on all the tables.
Here’s some of my favourite shots from the day (link to full gallery at bottom)…

Yesterday was Carnival Day in Sheringham, there were a huge number of people around, loads of events and entertainment laid on all day. Below are a few shots with a link to the full gallery below…
The chalk a picture saw a record number of entries with some excellent drawings. Shame we can’t spray coat them all with a varnish so they last a bit longer, they look a lot nicer than the grey concrete underneath and brighten up the seafront loads.
Below, my young apprentice William got his face painted – on Tuesday he came through to me with felt tip pen all over his legs, when I asked what he’d been doing he said ‘I want to be a zebra Daddy’ so it was no surprise on Wednesday when he decided he wanted to be a zebra for the face painting!
The talent show at the little theatre saw some brave entrants perform for a huge crowd outside, this lad did a great rendition of Wonderwall.
….while down the road at the Battle of the Bands ‘Spot’ entertained another large and appreciative crowd, below we see their ever shy drummer Mike Waters gently tapping out a beat. Gotta love that t-shirt!
The East Norfolk militia brought a lovely splash of colour.
Below, Flick, Rosa and Olivia brought some glamour to the occasion as always!
Below, the Blyth & Wright team maintained their incredible record for superb floats with this homage to Father Ted, here we see a frighteningly accurate Father Jack in full flow. I think this is known as method acting!
Below, use #37 for an unwanted toilet cistern float. The guys on this float put real work into their costumes, hand-making the outfits with striking attention to detail, even down to using genuine Roman lino flooring for the chestplates. Great work!
The lovely Wendy Hurrell (ITV weather girl) with two local admirers. Richard, on the right, has since been issued with a restraining order and banned from watching the weather forecast for at least 6 months.

Today was the Strongman Competition in the Sheringham Carnival, it was a pretty grey afternoon but we still saw a good crowd turn up to cheer on the tough guys!

I’ve managed to get the first of last weekend’s weddings processed – Kim & Rich were married at Lynford Hall near Thetford.
Below, the beautiful Lynford Hall.
Below, bridesmaid Pazz laces Kim into her wedding dress.
Below, Rich not only had to dress himself on his wedding day but also ended up sorting out the cravats of most of his ushers and his dad!

Below are a few highlights from the emotional rollercoaster that was today’s sandcastle competition, there were many superb creations there today….
Below, this elephant sand sculpture looked great.
Below, a full scale replica of our lifeboat, in fact we do actually steer the boat with plastic spade handles so top marks for technical accuracy here!
Below, Rosa kisses a crab, sadly prince charming didn’t appear, actually the crab was the worse for wear after it’s royal mauling and had to be returned to the sea to recuperate.
Below, Sam in his Formula One creation.
Below, this lovely octopus bears a striking resemblance to Mr Tickle!
Below, one of the two winning sand creations, this was a sculpture of Nessie, good work.
Rosa, Flick & Olivia modelling the all-new dress-down vests as a simple alternative to the full dresses, a great idea and proof that Sheringham Carnival really does move with the times.
Next year – the Tesco Carnival – well, every little helps…

So Sheringham Carnival is here again, I couldn’t make the first couple of days as I had weddings on Friday and Saturday to photograph (the images of which I am working on currently and hope to have on this blog in the next few days).
Yesterday saw the crowning of the carnival queen and the bonnie baby competition and below is a small sample of some of the shots, the link to the full gallery (with the ability to purchase prints online) is shown at the bottom of this post. Also contact sheets of all of these shots will be in display in the window of the Little Theatre in Sheringham with envelopes to order prints available from the carnival caravan next to the town clock.
Below the Sheringham & Cromer brass band perform under a moody sky while we await the arrival of the carnival queen and her attendants.
Below, Sheringham Town Crier and master beard grower Tony Nelson leads the arrival of the carnival queen on the horse drawn carriage.
Below, Radio Norfolk legend Wally Webb was this year’s special guest to crown the carnival queen.
The coronation of Queen Rosa…
Rosa, her attendants Flick and Olivia and the carnival prince & Princess.
The girls try out the long bows, not sure why Flick is aiming hers at me though!

A scorching afternoon at Blickling with Brett & Wendy, we had a good wander around the grounds of the hall and even had time for a few quick croquet hoops on the lawn. Just needed some ice cold Pimms & Lemonade!

It was a warm summer’s evening when I met Hannah and Wayne for their pre-wedding shoot at Felbrigg Hall. We didn’t need to wander far to find some interesting locations for their photos.

I seem to be spending more time in Wells than in Sheringham these days, lucky I enjoy the drive along the coast road!
Had a great evening strolling on Wells beach with Michael & Helen, there’s something very special about Wells on a still Summer’s evening, must get myself a beach hut, just need to win the lottery jackpot first.
