This is the first post in my North Norfolk Gems series – a selection of my favourite local wedding suppliers and venues.
Throughout the next few weeks I will be posting articles with photographs and interviews with the business owners of the best North Norfolk wedding venues (in my opinion) and the best wedding suppliers including caterers, florists and musicians. The aim is to make this a resource for couples looking for wedding venues in North Norfolk and the best suppliers in the region to ensure their wedding is the quintessential perfect North Norfolk wedding.
I’ve shot a fair few weddings in and around the Burnham Market, Burnham Thorpe (birthplace of one Horatio Nelson no less!), Burnham Norton & Burnham Overy villages and they always remind me how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the world. The big skies, the saltmarshes alive with the calls of the waders & geese, even the drive along the North Norfolk coast road is a pleasure! Lucy and Tom’s wedding was no exception and they truly made the most of Lucy’s father’s back garden view straight out on the saltmarsh & creaks of Burnham Overy as you will see. But first some preparation shots…
Here comes the bride…
Tom nervously awaits his bride with his Bestwoman Sophie. If you live in the Golden Triangle in Norwich you may recognise Tom – he is the proprietor of the legendary Dozen Bakery on Gloucester Street. For our meeting to go through the timings & details of their wedding Tom & Lucy brought me an amazing selection of bread & pastries, I’m told their sausage rolls are possibly the best in Norfolk too!
As they left the guests showered Lucy’s father’s convertible in confetti petals, he’ll be finding them for years to come!
Off to Burnham Overy for the wedding reception backing onto the beautiful saltmarsh complete with an old pipe organ, maypole, bonfire and beer tent!
Loved the cake toppers Tom & Lucy chose! Their cakes were the most delicious looking wedding cakes I’ve seen in a long time. I believe they were made by Tom’s mother (clearly where he got his baking skills from!), often wedding cakes are pristine looking monuments that look more like sculptures but these cakes just made me want to bury my face in them!
