The lovely folks over at Cley Mill are kind enough to recommend me as one of their preferred suppliers and as a result I get to shoot lots of intimate weddings at this unique North Norfolk landmark.
Kimberley and Gareth’s was such a fun and relaxed wedding, a truly lovely couple with genuine warmth which was reflected in the service and the whole vibe of their wedding day.
It was a fairly short coverage since it was a small wedding so no preparation shots this time but I really enjoy shooting the short weddings at Cley Windmill, so many amazing views and shot opportunities, including a chance to get some nice aerial shots using the drone when the weather allows.
Kimberley and Gareth had hired one of Simon & Hannah’s awesome VW camper vans from Retro Campers, they had the van called Mr Blue Sky (love a bit of ELO!)…
If time allows it’s always great to head to the beach for a Cley Mill wedding, Cley Beach is only a 3 minute drive from the mill and even though it’s not the most glamorous of beaches we always get some interesting shots…
Simon kindly gave Gareth & Kimberley a bottle of champagne which they opened at the beach car park and promptly gave Mr Blue Sky a champagne car wash!
For more information about my wedding photography at Cley Mill please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, I offer reduced coverage for Cley Mill weddings since they tend to be smaller weddings due to the size restrictions at the mill.

So last week my 2016 wedding season started in earnest with a cracking wedding ceremony at Cley Mill here in North Norfolk. I’d met with Heather & Walter a couple of times prior to their Cley Mill wedding and we got on like a house on fire, I knew their wedding was going to be great fun! (more…)
I’m very lucky having so many amazing wedding venues pretty much on my doorstep here in North Norfolk and Cley Mill is definitely one of them. I’ve shot more weddings at Cley Mill than any other wedding venue, it can be challenging in a Northerly gale when it’s lashing down with rain but more often than not the weather here on the coast is dry & clear for the weddings I’ve covered so we get to enjoy the incredible views. This was particularly handy for Christine & Andy’s wedding – Andy works on the Sheringham Shoal Windfarm, visible from Cley on a clear day, so it was good to be able to see the windfarm in the background of some of their wedding photos. Today was a good day. A really good day.
Today was the day that Cley Mill got her first new sails in 25 years, the sun shone all day, my friends Jade & Lucy came along to watch, I took some photos, we chatted with Carolyn Godlee (the owner of Cley mill), had some coffee, went for lunch at The Ship Inn at Weybourne (& had incredible moules mariniere), came back to the mill and I got to photograph Cley mill from above while still being connected to the ground (via a massive cherrypicker). The second in my series of top North Norfolk wedding venues and wedding suppliers, this time I’m featuring the iconic Cley Windmill or Cley Mill as it’s known to close friends. Managed by Simon Whatling and the team, Cley Mill is set in the beautiful yet windswept North Norfolk village of Cley-Next-The-Sea (although with the tidal flooding in recent months it could have been renamed Cley-In-The-Sea).
Not only is the mill a stunning looking building it is surrounded by the world-famous reed beds and overlooks the saltmarshes of Cley, owned and managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, the area is listed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) due to the vast numbers of birds it attracts.
