Charley & Gordon - pre-wedding shoot at Cromer Beach

This will be my last post of 2009 - we didn’t have much leeway with dates for this shoot as Charley and Gordon live in Canada and were only over for a short while.

The day we ended up with wasn’t ideal for photography (or for being on the beach!), it was a very ‘flat light’ day, overcast, the prom at Cromer was covered in inch thick solid ice and it was bitterly cold but we braved the elements for as long as we could and got some good shots…

RNLI homepage photo

Thanks to a tip off from one of the crew (thanks ‘Sponge’!), I discovered one of my shots of Sheringham Lifeboat launching on a snowy morning had made it to the front page of the RNLI’s website.

Merry Christmas!

I finally ‘pulled my finger out’ and put together a Christmas card for this year, it helped having a good few inches of snow fall these last few days although as you can see below William didn’t quite ‘get it’ and still thought he should be able to use his scooter and even tried to cut the grass!

Merry Christmas to anyone lovely enough to be on here reading this!  Looking forward to 2010, see you in the New Year!

Chris.

2009 Wedding & Pre-wedding faves

Not long to go now until we start the second decade of this millenium (I guess that means we are moving from the noughties to the teenies?!) so it must be that time of year when I post my favourite shots of the year.  I’ve kind of limited myself to only horizontally oriented images this year and have restricted it to pre-wedding and wedding images only for this post.

A huge thank you to all of my clients of 2009 and to my fellow wedding vendors and the wonderful local wedding venues.  I feel my work has continued to evolve and have had a lot of people tell me that I have a very definite and distinctive style to my photography which is great.   Winning the SWPP awards recently was a lovely surprise and just the kind of recognition that we vain photographers love!

Also big thanks to all of my ‘blog stalkers’ - you know who you are, if it wasn’t for you and your regular feedback I probably wouldn’t be so inclined to waffle on here so much!

I may well get round to doing some sort of Christmas themed photos to put on here & mail round as many people as I can but right now this horrible rain & wind is kind of damping my creativity so until then have a lovely Christmas & a Happy New Year!

Mick & Sheila - a winter wedding at Cley Mill

My last wedding of the year and Mick & Sheila picked a cracking day for a winter wedding.  It was a mild, clear and still day with stunning blue Norfolk skies at this iconic North Norfolk wedding venue.

I was only at the mill for a couple of hours so not a lot of time to get the normal range of shots I aim for at a wedding but I still think we managed to capture the event well!

Below, ringbearer (and Mick’s grandson) Thomas carefully keeps the rings where he can see them!

Below, Sheila looked really elegant, and Mick brought along his specially made cufflinks which read ‘I’d rather be in the pub’!
