We had a night exercise last night, I stayed on dry land this time so took a few shots…

Below, guess who got a new remote control for his camera! Nerd? Moi?

Just found out one of my Cromer storm shots have been selected for the BBC News ‘In Pictures’ photos of the week - the theme was ‘Seven’ and the shot I submitted was taken during a Force 7 storm (actually I think it was a Force 8 but the theme for the comp was 7 so who am I to get pedantic about the Beaufort scale?!)
I was very pleased to learn today that I have won twelve awards in the national SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) competition this month - 3 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze awards.
One of the gold award winning photos is the shot below of Sheringham Lifeboat at Cromer Lifeboat Day, I love the colours in this shot.
I was lucky enough to be over at Bewilderwood again last week to photograph some of their Halloween activities which included lantern and mask making, spooky stories and a grand halloween light parade. Many of the children dressed the part and had a great time.
The event runs for the whole week preceding Halloween which was conveniently half-term, if you haven’t taken your little ‘uns to Bewilderwood yet I can highly recommend it!
I escaped from the computer for a couple of hours last week and headed over to Felbrigg Hall woods & lake to capture some of the colours of Autumn. It was a beautiful mild evening, no breeze at all, the cormorants were coming in to roost in one of the trees on the lakes edge, their funny croaking calls echoing around the woods. Overhead skanes of geese passed by calling to each other and the resident barn owl was patrolling the fields.
The computer can wait!
