Model shoot at Somerleyton Hall

A few weeks back I attended a workshop by world-renowned photographer David Beckstead, I’ve already posted some shots from the first day’s shoot, on the second day I was asked if I could find a model+wedding dress for the day and Caroline, one of the lovely brides I photographed last year, kindly volunteered.

I’ve only just got around to processing the images from the second day and thought I would share a few of my favourites.

Ruth & Sam - a pre-wedding shoot at Wells beach

I’ve done so many shoots at Wells beach recently that I thought for a change I would go through the woods forst and then back along the beach, OK it’s not a hugely adventurous change of plan but it was just the slight change I needed to give me some new ideas for this great location.  It also helped that Ruth and Sam were such great sports and really enjoyed themselves.

I know the shot below isn’t of Ruth or Sam but they were stood next to me while I took it so it kind of counts!  It reminds me a bit of a Brian Lewis painting.

Below, another shot from yesterday evening, this one has absolutely nothing to do with Ruth and Sam’s pre-wedding shoot, apart from the fact it was taken on the way home.  It’s a bit of a composite shot using some wild barley and another shot of the same area, just an idea I’m working on, watch this space!

Adam & Kirsty - pre-wedding shoot at Holkham Hall

It was a beautiful Sunday evening for Adam & Kirsty’s pre-wedding shoot at Holkham Hall, the sun was shining and the local cricket team were playing on the lawn at the front of the hall.  We took a wander around the grounds outside the hall, got some nice relaxed shots of Adam and Kirsty and I managed to get stung on the foot by a bee, still I guess it’s my fault for wearing flip-flops to the office!

Emily & Andy - a wedding at Weston Park

Emily and Andy chose the lovely Weston Park for their wedding venue, the fact that Andy is a 6-handicap golfer and that Weston Park has a superb parkland golf course had ‘nothing to do with the choice of wedding venue’ according to Andy, hmm!

Below, the guests arrive.

Andy has ‘a moment’, although with a little gentle persuasion the ring went on and the ceremony continued!

Below, Andy’s best man Steve was most accommodating when Andy realised he had forgotten to bring a tee.  Love the cake topper too, in case you can’t make it out the golfer is checking his watch!

Below, Emily and Andy have their first dance.
The music for their reception was provided by Darryl at Cambridge Sound,  Darryl has an excellent idea where he will ask the couple in advance to select 10 tracks they would like played each hour and from their choice of tracks he can then fill the rest of the slots with music of a similar style so that you truly get a personalised soundtrack to your wedding party, not only that but he’s also a thoroughly good chap!
