Lyndsey & Dan - pre-wedding photos at Plantation Garden, Norwich

As you can probably tell from the number of blog posts going on here at the moment, it’s been a busy week for me.  I’m starting to feel the strain but that may be down to an almost non-existent night’s sleep last night due to being conned into sleeping in a tent in the garden with the kids.  What with coughing all night on one side of me and snoring on the other by the time the dawn chorus kicked off at 4:15am I was ready to take shotgun to the songbirds.  Sorry to carry on about it but those birds weren’t in song, they were SHOUTING, I’ve never heard birdsong like it.

Anyway, back on topic… I met Lyndsey and Dan at the Plantation Garden in Norwich, it was a location I hadn’t shot at before so it was really interesting to see what we could make out of it.  The garden is an amazing little place, like a secret garden pretty much in the centre of the city.

Below are some of my favourite shots of the afternoon…

Sarah & Dan - a classic Norfolk wedding…

May Bank holiday, famous for raining, a brave date to hold a wedding on but Sarah & Dan’s gamble paid off with a stunning sunny day (although true to form it did rain quite a lot in the evening!).

Sarah received a lovely book from her friends with personal messages…

Below, lovely use of daisies in the girls’ bouquets and hair…

Sarah & Dan’s wedding reception was at the stunning Broad House Hotel, Wroxham, possibly Norfolk’s finest boutique hotel.

Flower girl Holly (and possibly the most photographed person other than Sarah & Dan on the day) gets to grips with the giant Connect Four game on the lawn…

The food at the Broad House Hotel is out of this world, the owners Philip and Caroline have put together a fantastic team, very talented chefs and an amazingly friendly atmosphere thoughout the hotel.  At one point Cheryl (their wedding coordinator extraordinaire) walked up to me with this immaculate tray of canapes and said “Do you want one of the canapes?”, I was touched that I had been offered a canape ahead of the guests but said “That’s very kind but don’t you think the guests should get to go first?”, at which point Cheryl laughed and said “No, I meant do you want a photo of the canapes!”   D’Oh!  It took great restraint not to nick one off the plate as Cheryl walked away after getting the shot but I was lucky enough to try a couple a little later on and I can assure you they taste every bit as good as they look!

Dan and his best men gave some of the funniest & most heart-felt speeches I’ve had the pleasure to listen to…

Below, Dan and Holly demonstrate their gurning skills!

Chatarina & Drew - pre-wedding shoot at Sheringham

I’m off to Finland next month to photograph Chatarina and Drew’s wedding which should be really interesting although Chatarina’s got me worried about the voracious mosquitos they apparently have out there!

For their pre-wedding shoot they came up from London for the weekend and we spent an hour one of the evenings on the cliffs at Sheringham, below are some of my faves from the shoot…

Emily & Andy - pre-wedding photography at Wells-Next-The-Sea

I’m getting a bit behind in the processing so I won’t write too much today but below are some sample shots from a pre-wedding shoot from last week with Emily and Andy on the North Norfolk coast.
