Matt & Katie shoot at Voewood

Back to Voewood on Monday for a portrait shoot with Matt & Katie, we had booked Voewood for the shoot as the forecast looked a bit dodgy but it ended up being a lovely sunny morning so we made use of the grounds too…

Martin & Sarah tie the knot…

It was the perfect winter wedding at the mighty Voewood last weekend - the snow fell during the ceremony, real open fires burned in every room and some classic Norfolk food was served including Brancaster Oysters and some incredible smoked haddock fishcakes, all in the unique atmosphere that is Voewood.

Martin and Sarah were both suffering from a bout of the flu (another hazard of the winter wedding I guess!) but you wouldn’t know it, they partied with the best of them.

Double trouble!

You can’t wear shoes like this and expect me not to zoom in on them!

Below, Martin’s reaction as he sees his beautiful bride for the first time (for the first time that day of course, not the first time ever, that would be ridiculous, this isn’t Blind Date you know).

…and as they said their vows the snow began to fall

Brancaster Oysters at their finest, sure beats a cheese & pineapple hedgehog!

..meanwhile the snow continued to fall and the wedding guests took turns in ‘keying’ Martin’s Porsche 911

I always manage to bring out the worst in children!

For the full gallery of shots from Martin & Sarah’s wedding click here, although Martin has asked that I password-protect the gallery until they’ve had a chance to see them first but I’m hoping that in a week or so we should be able to remove the password so everyone can access them.  Alternatively give Martin a call and see if he’ll tell you the password!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…

Awoke on Sunday to a good covering of snow and a fair bit more fell over the course of the morning. I grabbed a few shots down at the lifeboat - it’s not often you actually see the snow settling on the beach as the salt usually melts it pretty sharpish but there was plenty there on Sunday.

After Lifeboat exercise it was then time to face the barrage of snowballs as I returned home and was attacked by William & Charlie, I think we managed to cover all bases - snowballing, snowman, sledging, snow angels, snow down daddy’s neck, snow down the back of daddy’s trousers, snow in daddy’s ears..etc, etc!

The salty sea-dog returns…

Firstly apologies for all of the unanswered emails from last week - I’ve been away on the RNLI Inshore Lifeboat Helm course at the superb Lifeboat College at Poole.

It was an amazing week, loads of boat-time, exercises with the larger all weather lifeboats, helicopters, met some great people and returned home thoroughly exhausted.

(I should probably point out that the montage of shots below weren’t all taken by me and they were all taken on little point and shoot cameras so they aren’t representative of my professional work - for that keep scrolling!)

A special thank you must go to our boats’ trainer - Elliott Herbert, actually Lord Herbert but that’s another story, Elliott has the personality which really brings out the best in people, a superb sense of humour and the ability to make any subject interesting and memorable - keep doing what you do Elliott - you made the week!

Claire & Will Pre-wedding shoot…

Off to Blickling Hall for Claire & Will’s pre-wedding shoot this morning, and it was a great way to spend the morning. The leaves on the trees are an amazing mixture of yellows, oranges and golden browns and Claire and Will really enjoyed the shoot. The only downside was that the halls and grounds themselves were closed (as usually seems to be the case for me!) so we opted for the woodland that surrounds the hall grounds and I think we got some great stuff.
