Trinh & Dan - a wedding at Norwich Catholic Cathedral & Dunston Hall

This was my first wedding at the Catholic cathedral in Norwich, wow, what a stunning building, both inside and out, amazing architecture & great light.  After the service we all headed back to Dunston Hall for the reception, the weather played it’s part perfectly allowing the guests to enjoy their cocktails & canapes on the lawn and under the shade of the trees.

Sonia & Toby - a pre-wedding shoot on East Runton beach

I hope Toby & Sonia won’t mind me sharing this story but it explains why we held their pre-wedding shoot on East Runton beach - a place lacking in any interesting lighting/shade, architecture or foliage (but still with some pretty stunning scenery, cool skies and plenty of off-camera flash!)….

A few months back Toby & Sonia went for a walk along East Runton beach, Sonia spotted a bottle bobbing about just at the water’s edge, walked over to it, picked it up and saw there was a scroll of paper inside.  On opening the bottle & retrieving the paper she discovered Toby’s proposal to her.  How cool is that?!

(Toby had got his dad Nick to sneak onto the beach & place the bottle, secured with fishing line, at the spot moments beforehand!)

So that’s how we ended up on East Runton beach on a beautifully sunny day for their pre-wedding shoot…

Jessica & Francis - a wedding at Holt followed by Morston Hall

Jessica & Francis clearly appreciate great food - holding their wedding reception at the Michelin -starred Morston Hall is always going to mean an incredible wedding breakfast.

My coverage of the day started with the bridal preparations at Morston Hall, then it was on to Holt Methodist church (the last time I was in there was as a 9 year old with my late grandmother who used to the be organist there!).  After a service with smiles all round we shot back to Morston to avoid the torrential downpours only to find that the rain hadn’t touched Morston ( and continued to avoid it for the rest of the day, woohoo!)

Sarah & Ian - a wedding at Taverham Hall

Sarah & Ian were married at Taverham church followed by a reception at the lovely Taverham Hall.  The weather wasn’t ideal but a few spots of rain didn’t dampen spirits…

Charley & Gordon - a wedding at Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons

Charley & Gordon held their wedding at the foodie mecca that is Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir in Oxfordshire.  Le Manoir is an immaculate place as you would expect, stunning grounds & buildings and of course spectacular food.  I saw in the news this week that the Good Food Guide have placed them as the third best restaurant in the UK (after Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck in Bray & Ramsey’s Royal Hospital Road place in London).

Even myself & the band’s meals were amazing - fillet steak!  The staff were kind enough to grant me free access to the kitchens so while the guests were eating I stood in awe at some of the dishes the chefs were preparing (and was lucky enough to be given one of the dishes which was a Quail’s egg, spinach & black truffle ravioli with a poultry & rosemary jus) - incredible flavours & textures.

Anyway back to the photography….
